Beat the Super Pollutants Meet Them & Act Now Including non-COâ‚‚ pollutants in Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) A guide on integrating climate and clean air action into national climate plans. Check out the Resources Global Methane Pledge The CCAC provide Secretariat functions of the Global Methane Pledge to support countries in achieving their GMP commitments Check out our support system Why climate and clean air?Actions that address climate change and air pollution at the same time achieve greater results. We promote actions to reduce short-lived climate pollutants that have quick impacts on global warming, air quality, food security and human health. 1/3 2/3 3/3 Previous What are short-lived climate pollutants? Short-lived climate pollutants have a strong near-term warming effect on the climate and significant impacts on our health and the environment. About SLCPs Methane Black carbon Hydrofluorocarbons Tropospheric ozone How can we reduce short-lived climate pollutants? Simple actions, such as plugging methane leaks from oil and gas production, banning agricultural burning, and composting food waste, can drastically reduce emissions. Solutions Implementing solutions available now can avoid up to 0.6°C of warming by 2050 How we support action The Climate and Clean Air Coalition leverages science, finance, and political will to drive global action on short-lived climate pollutants. The Coalition works to reduce powerful but short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) – methane, black carbon, hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), and tropospheric ozone – that drive both climate change and air pollution. Co-Chaired by the United Kingdom and Brazil, the Coalition aims to connect ambitious agenda setting with targeted mitigation action within countries and sectors. Robust science and analysis underpin all efforts, and bolstered by the CCAC Trust Fund, the Coalition has given rise to high-level political commitment, in-country support, and a range of tools that help make the case for action and support implementation.
